PROVIDING CARE IN VIETNAM
VnHOPE Summer Medical Mission will be back for 2023!
With the pandemic slowing and restrictions easing, VnHOPE has decided to move forward with planning and recruiting volunteers for our Summer Medical Mission (June 25 – July 8, 2023).
As this will be our first medical mission since the start of the pandemic, there will be a limited number of volunteers who can participate; therefore, we may not be able to accept all applications for the 2023 Summer Medical Mission. We greatly appreciate your commitment and thank you for your understanding!
Please note, we will continue to monitor the spread of COVID-19 and any travel restrictions leading up to the start of the Medical Mission 2023. Should our circumstances change before the start date, volunteers will be eligible for a full refund of their deposit and application fee.
Because of the constantly changing nature of COVID-19, please also be aware that unforeseen circumstances (such as a positive COVID test) during the medical mission may incur additional expenses, which may be covered by travel insurance, or a longer stay in Vietnam based on the country's quarantine rules.
Registration for volunteers will open in November 2022. More updates to come in the following months!
We offer primary, pediatric, gynecologic, dental and optometric care to the rural underserved population of Vietnam. We prescribe medications, perform pap smears, dental procedures and hand out reading and prescription glasses to our patients.
We set up our clinics in Vietnam where patients can reach us for services. Our patients are underserved and access to health care for them is a challenge. We coordinate follow up care with the local healthcare centers and can refer specialty care to tertiary hospitals.
As part of our medical mission, we give out free medications, walkers, canes, wheelchairs and glasses. We also provide thousands of gift packages including cooking oils, condensed milk, toothpaste, toothbrushes and stuffed toys.
We partner with the local Vietnamese physicians and medical teams to exchange healthcare practices and expertise. Our students give presentations and shadow the healthcare providers to gain experience in our clinics.
